I robot , Manchurian Candidate & 911 Movie Reviews

by Beth Havens

Both Manchurian Candidate and I, Robot were excellent movies. I liked I robot. Will Smith made a very convincing bigot cop. =) sunny was a deep character and Dr Collins was rather deeper than you would have thought. I also find it rather humorous that the central character to the movie is dead through the whole movie. =) he's pretty good for a dead guy. And the bad guy is who I thought it was, but not who most people think it is... =)

Manchurian Candidate updated and revised with Denzel Washington as the star was really very interesting. usually the brain teasers leave me yawning, forseeing the outcome far ahead of the game, this one is done very well. Everytime you think you know the outcome, you are a tad surprised. Of course in true hollyweird style the bitch really does get it in the end, but boy do they leave you hanging until then, and then.... the clean up portion is rather interesting as well.

Two good thinkers...

Also saw Farenheit 911 yesterday 11:30 am, and have to say, if Moore would stick a bit more to the things he has hardcopy on, and less with interviews he's done, his works would be a bit less antagonistic. I appreciated his papertrail and his connecting of people to their origins, but I found some of his interviews were very "leading" in other words he pretty well planted the answers he wanted in some of the interviews. Still I was surprised at how much I laughed during a serious documentary. the gore was no more horific than what we've seen in other wars, the facts werent' much more than I've already pieced together, though I did find the CArlysle connection a hard lump to swallow, made me pretty ill. all in all, it was an interesting movie. I think the biggest surprise is that the theater, yesterday, this far into its viewing was PACKED. That is a very telling story.
