Fall

by Beth Havens

damn I love the fall, I love the colors, I love the smell, I love pumpkin pie, I love buffalo plaid flannel shirts on tall sexy men, I love sitting in front of a fire on the hearth with a warm cup of tea or cocoa cuddling with a good book and my cat, okay dog can cuddle too, and hey if a cute man comes along I'm game for some cuddling with him too. LOL

figs hanging heavy on the branch peeking beneath those leaves, tomatoes ripe on the vine, pumpkins and peppers and other rich ripe foods all waiting to fill the pantry and cupboards and some rich warm soup.

the mountains seem taller and deep purple not brown. courderoy dresses, warm tights, trips down town, to buy school supplies and new winter coats, off to the harbor to buy fresh fish and watching boats. the water is blue, like good saphires with caps of white chopping up from boat engines flowing down the cahnnels and the smell of the ocean that seeps into your soul.

I love walks on the beach when the air is crisp and the waves are wild, I like the smell of the air, the moon peeking through clouds, and vanilla candles... damn I love the fall... burgundy purple yellow dark green and vivid blue. apple cider. Beef stew. and talking to all of you...

damn I love the fall.
